Confirmed: the tutorial doesn't work.

Some programs do not seem to get informed when I choose a default to open certain file types. So PIE Studio and Telegram do not remember that I use MPC-HC for mov files and ask every time, whether I tick "Always use this app" or not. I haven't found a solution and don't know whether it's the program's fault or Win10.
For me it's the opposite. I like Windows asking how I want to open anything, just to be sure.
You can put a tick mark to make it the default value.
I didn't do anything special to solve it. But the problem stopped when I updated my Office 2010 to Office 2013 , , , :)
So, apparently it is an Office 2010 on W10 issue.
Interesting though. Before I upgraded Office, I also had the "how do you want" issue even when using a web-based email client (Comcast) and clicking on a link in the email. That is no longer the case.
Puzzling things, these PCs . . .
