Trying to decide between ManyCam and OBS Studio for a video recording software. What are the pros and cons of each? Recommendations? Some research seems to indicate that OBS is the more popular choice. Opinions? Thanks in advance!
I only use OBS Studio for recording my desktop. I don't play any games or stream with it.
If you do decide to use it, after the install, when you run it, right click on it and Run As Administrator. That way you can have other software running on top of it (OBS) and still use hotkeys to operate OBS.
From what I read, ManyCam appeals more to teenagers with all of its cutsy-wutsy effects and faces while OBS appeals more to serious users. Also, it seems ManyCam is more of a general webcam application that offers more options than webcam control software offered by vendors. While OBS really shines in broadcasting and streaming. I guess I need a more general webcam software but it seems that ManyCam is really heavy on resources. Any other alternatives out there people like?
