Can I stop Windows 10 from upgrading itself - No more Movie Maker

The latest upgrade that Windows 10 did, eliminated Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Viewer. I used both programs all the time and really miss them. I know that the new "photo" program has a lot of features but it does not replace both programs very well. I reinstalled a previous version of Windows 10 using Macrium Reflect and now have my Movie Maker and Photo viewer back. But I know that very soon Windows is going to want to upgrade and I will lose both programs. Any suggestions on how I can keep these programs without constantly reloading a backup version of Windows 10.

    Thanks in advance

Hi, there are several very frequently mentioned means of taking control of updates and upgrades - I will assume you have Home (Pro has additional means of control).

Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10
    Option 7

    Sledgehammer
    WuMgr (Windows Update Manager)

These block WU and allow you to manually scan for and select updates.

    Photo Viewer and Movie Maker

Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10
    - restore it

    or more conveniently:

Note this relies upon this dll remaining available:
There isn't an executable file for Windows Photo Viewer. Instead, Windows Photo Viewer uses the "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll" file.

Movie maker has been discussed elsewhere on tenforums- feel free to search for that- I don't use it.

    E.g.
How do I get Windows Movie Maker back?
