    You might try running it as admin and then trying the integration option.

    I just tried using the big blue button here to download it (64 bit) on 64 bit OS - context menu added ok.

    (My account is admin).

    open WinRAR go to options - goto settings - goto integration tab

    also WinRAR uses a "WinRAR.ini" to make it portable - thus no integration with OS
    removing that file from program folder (if exist) could also be the key to OS integration

    Sounds like WinRAR's context menu handler entries in the registry are missing and/or corrupt. Normally I would suggest creating a new account on your Dad's laptop to check whether the context menu entries for WinRAR are missing, i.e. is the problem limited to your Dad's current profile. However, WinRAR appears to implement its context menu handlers solely on a system-wide basis - there are no entries for individual users.

    Unfortunately WinRAR doesn't offer a 'repair' option (in Control Panel > Programs and Features) to re-install missing/corrupt items so you can either re-install WinRAR on top of itself (which is by far the quickest) or use a REG file to re-implement the registry settings (using Nir Sofer's RegScanner to search for WinRAR entries on your laptop, select all then File > Export Selected Items to create a REG file to import into your Dad's laptop and reboot... assuming you and your Dad both use the same version of WinRAR, of course).

    For example, here's just the 'context menu handler' registry entries for WinRAR 5.71 x64 to give you an idea of what an exported REG file would look like:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\WinRAR]
    ""="{B41DB860-64E4-11D2-9906-E49FADC173CA}"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WinRAR\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{B41DB860-8EE4-11D2-9906-E49FADC173CA}]
    ""=""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\WinRAR32]
    ""="{B41DB860-8EE4-11D2-9906-E49FADC173CA}"

    Personally, I would follow the 're-install on top of itself' route.

    Hope this helps...
