    Why does my OS want to open all URL files with the same program?


    I don't know what happened but my OS wants to open all URL file types with the same program, even after I reset the associations back to default with this: Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10 For example Runescape launcher, Steam game shortcuts, and Bethesda game shortcuts are all URL file shortcuts; I have Runescape launcher set to open with Runescape launcher so my OS sets all the other game URL shortcuts to open with Runescape launcher. How do I make my OS allow me to set what URLs are opened with independently?

    Welcome to the forum. what opens a URL is what file type it is like html, htm php , javascript et etc each can have a different program open them so htm may open with Edge and html may open with Firfox

    I don't think it's a Runescape launcher problem. When I change Fallout 76 url file to open with Fallout 76, the OS makes everything else default open with Fallout 76.

    What in the world are you doing here??? Why??? are you using Fallout 76 to open Just Cause 3?
