Reset Windows 10 - apps on other drives

According to MS (and elsewhere) if you use a Recovery drive to "Reset" your PC - and you elect to keep your own personal files, it will still be necessary to re-install apps after Reset. Is this true of apps that were installed on a drive other than the Windows (normally C:) drive? I like to keep my windows drive as free of programs clutter as I can.

I suspect the answer is going to be "Yes" since any required drivers and also Registry Settings will probably always be in the Windows folder/subfolders on the "Windows" drive.

Reset can preserve apps from the Windows Store but not other conventional programs you have installed. Consider a repair install if you have problems which preserves all programs Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Are we talking apps from MS store they are norammly so small its not worth messing with them

All apps I suppose. So anything i've downloaded from the Internet including trial software as well as MS Office and the like.

What problems are there with the computer that a reset is being considered?

Depending upon the problem these are options that do not require reinstalling applications:
a) troubleshoot the underlying problem
b) in place upgrade repair
c) system restore
d) restoring an image

These require reinstalling applications:
a) reset save files
b) reset remove files
c) clean install
d) custom install

Once you have fixed the underlying problem(s) consider making free backup images:
