I rely on SpeedFan to control fan speeds automatically according to temperatures.
I cannot find a substitute for it.

200+ programs and APPs installed, each I consider best in their field but Macrium Reflect is one that saved me many times.

    Hi folks

BTW W7 runs very nicely in a VM !!!!!!!

my view is that if you don't use it - don't install it so any program on your system should be important -- is it for instance a piece of computer software which allows you to access work data systems and therefore allows you to earn money, or some game that gives you hours of pleasure or whatever. A relatively Boring program I use a lot is EXCEL -- what I'd do over the years without decent spreadsheeting I shudder to think.

Important software might simply be a proper tax calculator that saves you going to jail for incorrect income tax statements being filed -- not an interesting program but surely keeping out of jail is important !!!

backups also are necessary -in case of loss, destruction, theft etc etc.

So the question is really meaningless and without merit !!!

    Cheers

Hard to see how someone's personal choice could be meaningless.

I really like Stardock Fences to keep a nice and tidy desktop. It's relatively cheap and allows you to create areas (or fences) on your desktop where you put desktop shortcuts.

A good imaging software is a must-have. I use Acronis True Image - been using it for years and i got a good deal on the latest. A lot of people on Tenforums use Macrium. Either way - it's a must have.

I just recently started using MusicBee - a fantastic music player and manager.

And finally i recommend an uninstaller, such as Revo.
