Trying to add JRE 64 Bit for Libre office without success

Hello I'm at a loss with this.
I recently had a HD failure which has required a new HD and a fresh install of W10. I lost the Windows office style extra that I had with the pc and don't seem able to re-install it so I got LibreOffice to allow me to compose letters etc.

I want to use Librebase to make a DataDase but I keep getting the error [ LibreOffice requires a 64-bit Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE and restart LibreOffice.]
I download the Java, it says successfully installed but as soon as I try to build the DataBase it gives that error message.

Can anyone give me any assistance please.
I'm not to strong on the PC internals.

I had tried Jacee option before and it says I have version 8 update 241 all good but as soon as I try to run the database I get that error.

I tried again using Jacee's directions and got exactly the same results. Grrrrr.

I then ran Callender's link and had the same result it says it is there but fails as soon as I try to build a database.

Have you got any other tips.

The only other suggestion that I can come up with is:

Uninstall Libre Office and Java

Geek Uninstaller - the best FREE uninstaller - scan for leftovers then reboot.

Try installing 32bit Libre Office and 32bit JRE.

I have come across this nice Uninstaller/Swiss Army tool today. It seems to perform nicely.

Hi there
I think you might need to install a version or two back of the JRE rather than the current one -- also ensure your version of Libre office is 64 bit.

It's a bit overkill but if you install the whole kybosh (the JDK --the development kit) that might also work as well.

Personally though I'd look at KINGSOFT OFFICE rather than LIBRE OFFICE --seems to be more compatible --certainly as far as EXCEL is concerned and doesn't need messing around with the JAVA stuff.

Personally I use a couple of other uninstall utilities.

Another option is Apache OpenOffice, free Office style app, documents, spreadsheet etc.
