    fit bit app wierdness

While browsing my start menu I came across a tile called fitbit which isn't on the scrolling
    list .
clicking on it takes you to the store.
Is this a new ad campaign of Microsoft?
the tile can only be upinned from the start menu.

Thomas, that's the FitBit Coach, which isn't the actual FitBit app. I figured there would be a charge for it, but there isn't. However! There's a gotcha! It says free, but there's no disclaimer saying you have to subscribe for money if you want to keep it.

From the reviews I read, you get one free coaching session, then you have to pay. One reviewer said they subscribed, but when they decided to cancel, it wouldn't cancel. Not only that, but when he contacted online help, he was told he'd have to wait for someone else to contact him.

Oh, yeah, BTW, if you don't have a FitBit, the app, she no worky! I have the FitBit Versa, but there's no way I'd get caught in that trap! The free "coach" that comes with the FitBit is much better than the "free" one at the Store.

You can just delete the tile if you don't like it. Microsoft seems to be going the almighty profit direction like so many others. I've deleted all the tiles from my Start Menu.
