    Finally Fixed iTunes

    After months of problems with iTunes (had to completely remove iTunes and all supporting software and reinstall to update, couldn’t sync or backup devices, backups kept disappearing) I finally found something that at has, least for now, solved the problems. I installed the Microsoft Store version of iTunes. The installer removed the existing version, installed an updated iTunes, complete with all the supporting apps, and then Windows Update installed new device drivers. Anybody else had a similar experience?

    There is an existing issue with iTunes and Malwarebytes 4. This has been effecting users for about 4 weeks and Malwarebytes is aware of it and will fix it with an update yet to be released. There is a work-around for it in the meantime.
    While I'm certainly not a fan of iTunes, this issue was caused by Malwarebytes!

    Thanks for the heads up. I found the info on the malwarebytes forum. It’s possible that the MS Store version isn’t susceptible to the problem. I sure hope so because I’m getting tired of reinstalling iTunes.

    @x509 and @skcusime
    Malwarebytes released a fix (updated version) for this issue a few hours ago. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topi...ed-feb-5-2020/
    FYI, Since I installed the Windows Store version of iTunes I haven't noticed the problem but I understand that some users have issues with both it and the Apple version.
