The world is changing electronically, maybe that's it. I have literally hundreds of pages on sites since 1995 or thereabouts. I simply cannot live long enough to change everything. What is puzzling me is what has changed in the past week ore so to make sites go visually rubbished????

what does interest me (not that I understand all this but) is this line, possibly others:

When I make an image saved in my pc I give it a file name eg: mike at home.jpg. When it goes into server via my Filezilla uploader it looks like this: Note the '%20' that has inserted itself instead of 'space'. I assume that ,as this has gone on for a long time, its my fault for spaces in file names????

    Line 167, column 83: required attribute "alt" not specified…eight="151" src="town/town%20sign.jpg" width="200" class="auto-style115" /></p>

Page displays fine for me in all browsers. Vivaldi, Firefox, Maxthon, 2Browse.

Suggest: Check by visiting sites using another machine.

Windows has not changed anything. See the link I posted that sows there are many errors with that page. Websites have evolved to work faster and render on different devices. With a mobile world, the page is not going to pass muster. It really needs to be broken up in pages. W3Schools gives you a lot of good information in building a proper webpage. '%20' denotes a space so no problem.

    Looks clear to me.

I think you might have hit on the answer???? I deliberately picked a page I have not amended and used my phone, samsung 8. It was clear and legible. Has my sites been somehow made mobile friendly???? I have ust checked it on my Surface tablet they are all good. The ones I have already made bold also good. Now for the big $64k question - how do I fix it on my pc ............. Reset monitor? 28 inch 4K HDMI 2 cable and of course - why has it been fine till now???

call - that example you brought up of mine is a 'bold' rendered site. I'll add an unrendered screen shot. This looks great on my tablet It has to be a monitor problem, the snapshot here is a lot clearer that the screen I took it form?

Had a good think and decided it has to be my monitor, so went into the onscreen settings and found total reset. It worked. I loaded up a page I knew I couldn't read and it was fine, clear and very black text!!!!! I can hazard a guess as to what happened but she will deny it

I reckon you need to get your machine's display / graphics settings sorted but I'm not expert on that. Also there are usually additional options depending upon your graphics driver.

Change Screen Resolution of Display in Windows 10

Turn On or Off ClearType in Windows 10

Check those for a start. Maybe others will offer further advice.
