Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 and 2010 SP1 for Windows 10

Then i think 2008 SP1 might actually not be installed because for me latest version in control panel appears 9.0.30729.17 not 9.0.30729.6161

I have just downloaded 2008 SP1 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/down....aspx?id=26368

I test installed both the x86 and x64 in a virtual machine, they are just described as 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.30729.6161' (or x86). There is no 'SP1' in the control panel's displayed name.

Thanks for the info Bree. Well i guess that just shows i need 2008 SP1 because for me in control panel in programs list it shows 9.0.30729.17 not 9.0.30729.6161. I'm assuming i don't have it installed, correct ?

It seems you may have SP1, but an earlier version. At least, that is how I read this post...

Well shit.. now i don't know if i should install those from the game's redistributables anymore.

The reason i was asking is because i noticed Dragon Age Inquisition seems to have a worse FPS on Windows 10 then Windows 7. Back when i had Windows 7 it would worse FPS i got was 35 but on Windows 10 worse FPS i get is about 27. Don't know why. GPU drivers are up to date also.

UPDATE : Well it seems i might have been mistaken about the FPS issue. The FPS drop was only in one area of the game, i just needed to play some more of the game to find this out. That specific area it looks like it's causing FPS drops for every PC running this game.

GPU temps are also good so the GPU isn't overheating or throttling. Looks like the game is just badly optimized i guess.

I'm not a gamer, but it seems unlikely that the exact version of the VC++ redistributable would have much to de with it, video drivers are more likely.

Sygnus21 thanks for the link about tips & troubleshooting in games, really useful to know. Actually most of that stuff i already knew because i've been a gamer for over about 20 years.

The one thing i didn't knew on W10 and even W7 - i thought DX9 automatically gets installed when you install DX11 or DX12. I mean i always though the latest version of DX in this case being DX12 automatically includes all other DX versions.
