Problem with Microsoft store. Can’t download new apps

Anyone having an issue acquiring new apps on the Microsoft store? I haven’t tried to get a new app in quite some time but just tried with a couple of free ones this morning. if i click ‘get’ nothing happens. Same on both my machines and for all our user accounts. Tried restarting both machines but no difference. App updates all working ok so it’s just acquiring a new app that’s playing up. Signing out and then back into store doesn’t help either. Server side issue perhaps (in (UK) if it’s relevant)? Or maybe a recent wonky store update to blame?

Hi, I’ll try again later when home from work in case it’s flakey ms servers. Seems strange all our machines and user accounts suddenly had the same issue. Do you have the same issue? Bearing in mind all our machines are v1909 fully updated from this weeks patch Tuesday and using the latest ms store app (last update a week or two back). I don’t go in for any insider stuff

    thanks

I downloaded one app and had no issues. I'm running 1909 build 18363.535

Was that a new app . A free one? Are you on the latest store version 12001.1001.1.0? am home from work and still clicking get does nothing. I have signed out and into the store, reset the store app. All sorts but no difference. We have 3 machines with various different user accounts across both and the issue affects them all. We can redownload/install previous/owned apps just fine. It’s just this pesky get button for any new ones that does nothing

Can confirm it works on mine (New, Get). Have you tried reinstalling the Store?

Thanks. I haven’t tried that yet. I will as a last resort but am wary of the powershell commands. Seen quite a bit of unpredictable behaviour as a result. So don’t want to make things worse. I think I had my fingers burned by some kind of powershell attempt a couple years back. I am seeing a fair bit of noise on the ms answers forum about this issue. At the moment posters being fed canned responses but maybe it’s an emerging issue. I guess if MS starts noticing a dip in revenue from this particular income stream it might get on their radar.

The Microsoft Store App is not working on any of my machines. All I am doing is trying to update the apps. Says the problem is at Microsoft's end:

Thanks for sharing. Seems to be all sorts of shenanigans at MS end then . Not everyone suffering the same problems it seems but plenty going on. Maybe it’ll return to normal for all of us over the weekend !

I am wondering if it has anything to do with all the downloads going on at the moment with the new Edge Chromium browser which became available a few days ago.
