Which player were you using to play dvds?
Its possible the player is corrupt and may need to be re-installed.
Unlike win7 windows 10 doesn't come with native dvd support.
can you try a different player?
VLC will play Dvds so will 5k player and several others.

Windows Media Player is different from Windows Media Center of Win8.x which was discontinued when Win10 came out. I've kept Windows Media Player for audio and installed VLC for movie DVDs and downloaded videos from the 'net.
