    Search and Replace in Windows Explorer


    I have a folder with some 200 books in .txt format. About 40 of the titles begin with the word 'the', ex. The Plague, The Four Horsemen, etc. I was wondering if in Windows Explorer there is some way I can remove all instances of the initial 'the' in one fell swoop; something like Search and Replace? Unfortunately, the word 'the' also appears within titles but other than as the initial, as in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I Googled a solution but without success. I'm trying to spare myself the need for individual removal by hand.

    Any advice, suggestions, gossip is appreciated in advance.

    Once you get over 10,000 titles in your collection, the is a very small thing. Don't alter titles...
    Sort and setup your 'library' by author name, a folder for each.
