That program does work --it's been in Free beta for at least 3 years now !!! - I think though every so often you have to re-download and install.

The only problem with ripping this way you probably won't get the DVD menus / setup options / audio language streams and subtitles. However subtitles are easily obtainable in real time if you use KODI as the player and add the opensubtitle.org addin. (Or any other subtitle site you might prefer to use).

I find Handbrake can be slow. I use the MPEG4 codec set to Constant quality 1 (Highest quality) which runs at about 4x real time (so that's two hours video in 30 minutes). This seems to be the fastest I can get Handbrake to run, then I compress the resulting large file using FFMpeg afterwards.

Thanks Bree. I have it down to around 30 minutes which I can live with.
