    Security apps and programme reconmendations.


    Ok. there are so many different apps and programmes out there and I understand that everyone has their own likes n dislikes. But if you could just take a min and recommend your go to apps and programmes for mainly security but feel free to recommend any other top apps that are worth a look id be very greatfull.

    A couple of discussions here on this suggested Defender actually does pretty well. Please feel free to search for that discussion. Something like 'Which security software do you use?'

    Standing alongside any standard AV I like SecureAge SecureAplus- this
    - whitelists what is run so any exceptions (exe, dll, scripts) are flagged, so that's good defence against random bad stuff running.
    - Access to some 13 AV engines to scan new files or the PC - a bit like Virustotal, but allows scanning the disks.
    - Does a background scan on logging on.
    - Non-intrusive normally.

    Note that some 3rd party security software prevents Windows upgrades in an obscure manner.

    Macrium Reflect
    Nirsofer is a great source of utilties.
    Winaero's tweaker is reputable.
    Listary offers interesting ways to access frequent/favourite files and folders and more.
    Locate32 offers fast indexed search- I prefer it to Everything (void tools) or Ultrasearch. (no content indexing).

    Crystal Diskinfo/ Diskmark and HDTune (free) - disk SMART params and more

    Free apps/ software I always use are Macrium Reflect - Minitool Partition Wizard - VLC and Lightshot for taking screenshots. As for security see dalchina's post. Also 7zip and Geek uninstaller.
