    Hi folks

just "5th player in a String Quartet here " i.e just adding perhaps a silly question -- but surely if you are listening to Music you aren't looking at the particular "playlist" / skin of the music application / player--usually one is either reading. doing something else on a computer, travelling / listening via a phone + blu tooth phones etc etc.

Just my take on this --once you've got the music on to playable folders does anybody really give a toss about skins any more !!!

    Cheers

    Damn right I do!!!
It's all about atmosphere, style, etc...
I don't eat in a Windows 10 restaurant, I don't drive a Windows 10 car and I don't decorate my house in Windows 10 style so, my PC will be decorated in a style that pleases me.
    Why? Because it's possible!

    But, that's just my take!
    Hi folks

It's not about sitting at the screen looking at the app, it's about having a nice looking app when you look at the screen

    Hi there

Not sure what that has got to offer anymore compared to things like KODI and VLC - both of which can play DVD iso's directly etc etc.

However with all these things thank goodness there is a choice. For ripping CD's I'm still using the old venerable winamp -- still working perfectly on W10 and for classical music CD's the gracenote built in "tagger" is far better than a lot of the other tagging systems in other rippers.

    Cheers

It can run VST plugins. This means far more advanced audio features available than Kodi has. It's a simpler interface, too.

Sorry if it seems like I keep boasting on this Program but, I don't think I've ever had a more pleasant user experience with an audio app since..., I can't remember!

Lyrics are bang on! (I do a lot of singing!)

Mini Taskbar player is handy too!

Yeah, we don't have the taskbar mini view, but we do have a mini view that goes semi transparent until clicked on. It can also be moved around, but will default to the top center of the screen...

BTW, how's Foobar2000's ripping process? Do you use it to rip music or use a third party app? I use dBpoweramp for my rips in APE, JRiver for flac.

I thought you said you had Foobar a while. You don't rip your own files?

Everything I have in my music collection is ripped from my CD / album collection. I don't buy downloaded music, but if I did, they'd have to be high quality files from places like this - Homepage | HDtracks - The World's Greatest-Sounding Music Downloads

    That's me.

Most of my media was ripped years ago! Tons of different formats! Don't feel up to re-ripping everything!

I just ripped Yes - Keystudio though. Decent bit rate, nice round sound.

Wasn't asking about re-rips. Was just curious as to what you used to rip when you did.

In the beginning, it was mostly just WMP.
Later on, I ripped some stuff with dBpoweramp and MediaMonkey.
