How to remove Logitech Download Assistant
Good day all,
On my new notebook a program named Logitech Download Assistant is active from startup.
I found where to disable it, but how can I remove it completely ?

Go to your start menu and type control panel, find Programs and Features, should be listed and removable
My bad, didn't realize it was the update mgr for Logitech...

It does not exist in Programs and Features. It is not a program, but an application extension. If you have Logitech hardware, and also have Logitech Set point or Logitech Options or Logitech Unifying Software installed, the DL Assistant comes with it. Look at the path in the Task Manager>Startup. You will see that it can be disabled, but the full path is to a System dll, Rundll32.dll in the System Folder System32. That cannot be removed. The .dll in turn runs LogiLDA.dll from the same folder, System32. It does not run all the time, in fact it does run at all. It's a module called when there is an update to the Hardware related drivers/app.
Bottom line, to "remove" it completely, you would need to uninstall all related Logitech Software for your Logitech Hardware. Might be something you shouldn't do.
If you don't want to see it at all (hide) in Task Manager>Startup, get a copy of Autoruns from Sysinternals (a Microsoft co.), and uncheck the entry. It will not appear any longer. Not deleted or removed, just hidden from view. And will not auto-load at startup.

There may be an option to disable the function performed by the executable/.dll that you wish to stop running.
Open the Logi control software, (should be "Options" but is dependent on age / hardware), select a piece of hardware (Keyboard, Mouse, Etc), from the list shown and then check for an advanced section or a checkbox "automatically check for updates" or similar and uncheck it.
WarningThis action will have the downside of not checking for new updates in future, so could mean that an upgrade/update to Windows could, in future, cause the hardware to stop working until you manually update, just be aware

I actually found the right way to remove it after being mildly annoyed by it for a few weeks. Assuming that like me you don't have Logitech products currently go to device manager, under View check Show hidden devices, then expand the Human Interface Devices section, and select Logitech Input device and right click it and select Uninstall and check also delete device driver, then do the same for the Logitech Download Assistant device.

Logitech Download Assistant is installed as a HID driver and creates autorun entries using its driver INF file.
Thus to fully uninstall it, perform the following steps:
Open Device Manager and expand Human Interface Devices. Right click on "Logitech Download Assistant" and choose Uninstall Device. Make sure that "Delete driver software for this device" is checked and then click Ok.

Hi!
I tried these exact steps, and it just keeps coming back! I've also disabled it in "Start up" in Task Manager. It disappears for a while, but then it returns. It's driving me nuts!
Any other tips? I'm going crazy since it interferes with communication between my new bluetooth adapter and my Logitech keyboard/mouse (I used unifying receiver before).
