    Office 2019 v.s. Windows 10 Free Office

I'm still not sure if I understand enough to even ask questions, but here goes. First some quick background.

    1. Using Windows 10 - installed about a week ago. Used windows 7 for years.

    2. When installing windows 10 I used the offline v.s. the Microsoft t sign in option. A friend said offline was the way to go so I did.

    3. Bought a copy of Office 2019 Professional

    4. After I got Windows up and running I installed Office 2019. When installing office I had to login to my Microsoft account.

    5. After Installing Office 2019, I read that windows 10 comes with a limited free version of office.

    QUESTIONS:

    1. How do I know if I'm using the office 2019 I installed v.s. the Free Version of Office that comes with windows?

    2. Windows is always asking me to upgrade to premium. What? Why? Isn't office 2019 the latest version? Since windows is always asking me to upgrade I wonder if I'm using the FREE version off office even though I installed office 2019?

    3. To use office 2019, do I have to be logged into my Microsoft account?

    4. I believe One Note comes with office 2019 professional, but not sure. I have one note on my computer but not sure if it came with Windows or it was installed when I installed Office.

Everyone seems to love windows 10 but to me it seems to be about dollars. I guess Microsoft is going to go the Adobe Route and make things confusing as hell or at least that is how I feel.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    4. There is a version of OneNote that comes with a default installation of Windows 10, it['s called OneNote for Windows. My Microsoft Office 2013 has its own version.

    3. I believe that requirement is or used to be at least monthly with Office 365, had a client who would be traveling weeks at a time and always in a panic when returning to his Desktop computer when he couldn't open his E-Mail.

A number of publishers will be going with the SaaS [Software as a Service] subscription editions of their programs. In a way it makes sense in them keeping their software up to date and saving on the costs of the discs, shipping, printing, etc.
