    Removal of unwanted folders


    Removal of unwanted folders

    One of my setups has recently fallen victim to some misbehaving software that had undesirable contents installed on the D drive which is used for personal data. "Apps and features" was able to remove these, but attempts to delete the folders left behind had failed.

    Does the OS provide any tools to delete such folders? If not, any other tools to recommend?

    Those folders are created when you change the default save location for new apps I believe, go into settings, apps and change back to default location. Or try to take control of the folders, they are currently owned by System and Trusted Installer I think. Else you can remove them from outside of Windows with a Linux boot USB or a Command Prompt (may need to change ownership).
