Is VLC Media Player 3.0.8 Safe as of 11/19 for Windows 10

    Hi folks:

    Happy and safe holiday season.

Can you please tell me if you feel the VLC Media Player would be safe to download and use for Windows 10?

I had read conflicting reports of a security issue several months ago (reported by some but denied by one of their executives).

If you feel it is safe does anyone have experience using it?

The software that came with the computer system years ago Cyber Link Power Media on both computers has had many issues from the get go. When you play a CD that you recorded even if it has no gaps (as I record all that way) it adds two seconds between songs, when you insert a DVD and click on the Play Movie Button on the center of the screen you get a message "Format not supported" but if you click on the left side under My Computer the file will open but fast forwarding and rewinding often causes freezing of the screen.

The reviews of VLC have been superlative. I am looking for a player that will play audio WMA, FLAC, MP3, and WAV (without gaps) and on the video MPEG, MPEG 4, and AVI with ease of use, ability to rewind/forward and all files from the computer or the Optical drive recognized.

Thank you for your time and be well,
      My Computer

This article explains what the security issue was, and says that it was fixed from 3.0.3 onwards....
