    New 7 Zip Finale

    - 7-Zip now can unpack DMG archives that use LZFSE compression method.
    - 7-Zip now doesn't allow update operation for archives that have read-only attribute.
    - The BUG was fixed:
    extracting from tar with -si switch didn't set timestamps for directories.
    - Some bugs were fixed.

    Don't be an idiot. You know perfectly well why he releases beta versions. It is described on the site.

    I'd be happy to take a beta considering it is the best (and most trustworthy) compression program you can get.

    Yes, but I just recalled someone being pretty upset about the stable version never being released.

    - The speed for single-thread LZMA/LZMA2 decoding
    was increased by 30% in x64 version and by 3% in x86 version.
    - 7-Zip now can use multi-threading for 7z/LZMA2 decoding,
    if there are multiple independent data chunks in LZMA2 stream.
    - 7-Zip now can use multi-threading for xz decoding,
    if there are multiple blocks in xz stream.
    - New localization: Kabyle.
    - Some bugs were fixed.

    Thanks for the info about the 18.03 beta.

    Easy install which, unlike previous versions, respected my previous choices and this time didn't put back the context menu entry for CRC SHA. :)

    Interesting and somewhat worrying article about 7_Zip on the AskWoody site. Thoughts about it would be appreciated
