How do I remove Facebook Messenger from loading in browser on Win10?

I use Google Chrome for access to Facebook on my PC. I would like to be able to remove Facebook Messenger from the Facebook web view (not Facebook app with Messenger on cell). Is there a way to do this?

Go to the google store and get fb purity extension, with it you can basically make facebook a blank page if you wish by disabling anyone of 100's of options.you should also be able to get it via extensions tab in your browser ..
    best of luck

Not an extension, just knowing that you accidentally clicked to allow notifications, which the link details how to change Notifications in Chromium based browsers.

I wanted to remove Messenger from the Facebook browser page, not just stop notifications. The fb purity extension did the trick.

You are not really removing messenger, just hiding it.
