    Thanks for the thoughts.

I have two desktop computers running Win 10 Pro version 1903 and one Notebook running Win 10 Home version 1903, all three have wired mice (USB optical mouse), not one of them will rotate the ruler.

I have checked by plugging into a different USB port... No change.

I have done the re-reg process for Snip & Sketch... No change.

    Must have something against you...
    - or- something common to those installations is preventing this working, which would seem remarkably specific.

    I have:
About this app Snip & Sketch 10.1907.2471.0

You say you have a laptop- I can rotate the ruler using my touchpad- 2 finger scroll...

Yes the Snip & Sketch installed here is the same number. 10.1907.2471.0

Yes I do have a Notepad/Laptop but I never use the touch pad as I find them a PITA.

These days (retired) it is only ever used on a desk in my office... Thus the mouse.

Nb1. With regard to Snip & Sketch, I do have a use for two finger, but that's a rude sign.

Nb2. I wondered... So I had a go with the machine of SWMBO, also Win 10 Version 1903... Well wadya know, the ruler rotate works on her machine.

Exact same Logitech mouse as I have and in the same USB socket.

That may well be a clue. Carefully compare all the Logitech-specific mouse settings, you may find a difference that explains this behaviour.

Point about the touchpad is that if you can demonstrate rotation of your ruler using that, then there's presumably no odd 3rd party program effect.

    That gives you 2 approaches..

I have compared the settings of both Her and My Logitech mice and they are the same... The Laptop has a different brand optical mouse but has the same settings.

Guess I'm not suprised as I'm the geezer in this house who sets up and maintains all the family computers.

Well, it has been a lot of years since I used an accursed touchpad but I eventually managed to get the Laptop S&S ruler to rotate and it now sits at the true vertical.

What a damnable performance to get it to rotate with the touchpad...

Still doesn't rotate with a mouse though.

FWIW. I also went to my computer spares cupboard and dug out another brand mouse and tried that... No change.

Touchpads can be funny things. I dislike the physical build of the one on this Thinkpad- the whole thing moves up and down...

Not sure what else is left. Please try creating a new user just for test purposes, log in as that user, then try.

    Mmnnn!
If it was the only computer with the S&S problem yes maybe worth a try, but as it covers three different machines with, in some cases quite different apps, I don't think it's worth the effort.

To be honest I don't even like the S&S app, preferring the old Snipping Tool for a quick grab, but thought, as we are having it forced upon us I ought to see how it works (Or doesn't).

Anything more sophisticated than a quick grab I use Snagit.

Even though the problem is not resolved, thanks folks for the input, appreciated.

A curiosity- I suppose be grateful for small mercies- just a minor snag... I mean, how often is anyone actually going to use that ruler?
