What is "HP Application Enabling Software Driver" ?

My HP ProBook has been offered the HP Application Enabling Software Driver (see below). Does this serve any useful purpose or is it more HP bloatware?

This package provides the HP Application Enabling Software Driver for supported models running a supported operating system. HP Application Enabling Software Driver is a virtual driver that offers general custom capabilities which will be utilized among HP applications after transferring to the Microsoft store app with HSA architecture.

What was the name of the application?

HP, Dell, and Lenovo each offer software for checking the status of drivers and BIOS.

HP has 3 software depending on the computer model.

Instead of using the HP software you could manually update drivers and BIOS as needed.

I have a Dell that came installed with their Support Assistant. I never actually received any notifications from it, despite the availability of new drivers and BIOS. I uninstalled it after reading that it caused a security problem. I think if you're informed enough to understand that stuff is occasionally updated, you're probably savvy enough to check and see what you need.

Thanks for your replies. I'll assume this is more HP bloatware and will continue to check HP's support site for new drivers every few months.

I also use HP Softpaq Download Manager which is more comprehensive than HP Support Assist https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c02860501

The HP softpaq is one of the three.
It is no longer going to be released on new HP computers.

I bought a new HP ProBook only a month ago and was advised to use HP Softpaq Download Manager by HP Support

The HP softpaq download manager can be used like old Windows versions.

HP had retired the software earlier this year.

Is there newer similar software to use and is the driver library maintained for the old Download Manger to ensure it finds the latest HP drivers?
