My start menu weather tile displayed temps and so forth when this installation of Win 10 was new (about four days ago). I didn't mess with it because I kind of liked it there. But now it is just a turquoise coloured tile...no information at all...and when I click on it it opens up full screen.
How can I get it back the way it was?
Right click Tile > More > Turn Live Tile ON.
Settings > Privacy > Background Apps > Weather ON.
It does occasionally go wrong, keep it updated. There are also other Weather Apps in the MS Store, but not always better than the MS offering.
The first thing to check is that it is still set as a Live Tile. Right-click on it and hover the mouse over 'More >'
Next, allow it to run as a background app.

If it doesn't work with both those turned on, try opening Weather, wait a while for it to display an updated forecast, then see if the live tile is working.
Finally, if it still doesn't work, try resizing the tile. I've had occasions where (for no apparent reason) it stopped working as a live tile when set as a Wide tile (my preferred size) but would work if I resized it to a Medium tile. It's been a while since I've seen that problem though.
It would also be worth opening the Store and checking that the Weather app is up to date.
