    Photos app and star ratings

    Hi there,

Not sure if you can help. I've just got a new computer with Windows 10. I previously used Photo Gallery to view my photos individually. As I scrolled through them I would mark any I liked and wanted to use in a photo album as 5 star rating. Then I could filter on ones that had a 5 star rating and move them into a new folder. The photo album software could then navigate the the folder with all the 5 star rating photos and I could add them to the photo album.

I can't find a simple way of doing this or something similar in windows 10. The Photo app has an option to mark a Photo as Favourite, but I can't see how to filter on favourite and move them to a separate folder.

Also, there doesn't seem to be any auto correct options - in Photo Gallery you could select buttons that would auto correct for exposure and other things, but there only seem to be more manual options in windows 10.

Perhaps a different app would work, but I'm not sure where to start.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Using windows 10 version 1809

You can do this in File Explorer.

Browse to your photo folder, select large thumbnails view and make properties visible (see picture below). In properties you can set ratings for any photo, and then sort photos by rating

Thanks, but this isn't quite good enough for what I need. I am often looking at many photos with very slight differences and the largest thumbnail size is still not big enough. I really need to be able to do this with the photo open/full size, but dont want to have to open the photos, then close them to be able to rate it. I will often flick between say 5-10 photos that are similar, choosing the best ones as I go, but then flick back again when I've viewed them all to check which is the best and maybe rerating them. Having to open and close the photos to rate them makes this very awkward and difficult to keep track of what's what.

OK, I've reread you original question, and you can filter Favorite photos...

It is at the top of the Photo app. positoin can varies - not sure on which parameters, but it is on of the first

After you are done with adding them to Favorites, click on select at the top, select them all ,and copy..
