Reliable with full details of every tweak- all as far as I've seen reversible. Winaero is reputable. Updated periodically.

Use with care though, there can be some strange side effects. It allows you to change things that would, perhaps, be best left at their defaults.

Strange symbol between figures of clock on taskbar.

At least it is fully reversible, and probably a good idea to set everything back to default before a Feature Update.

    Thank you for the advice.

I saw a post in the discussion you linked that said it wasn't WinAero itself that was doing that....here

I enjoy learning how to perform registry tweaks using "see in detail how this tweak works" from Winaero. Once in a while I may get lazy and just use the tick box instead.

I suspect that playing with windows fonts might be much more trouble than it's worth.

I've used WT for years. Never had a problem with it. I use it primarily for tweaking the appearance of Windows so I can see things better. A few other tweaks as well but there's a lot in there so I leave a lot alone.

I've interacted with Sergey Tkachenko, the principal behind WinAero.com, for the best part of a decade. Stand-up guy, good programmer, interesting tools and information.

Can those who use Tweaker tell me some of the useful things that it can do? I looked over the list of features but as a previous poster suggested there's a lot there that might not ever be used by someone who doesn't really understand what's involved.

I recently discovered Winaero and used it to disable telemetry data being set to Microsoft, disable auto-updating of Store apps which also stops the automatic installation of promoted apps, switched the BSOD back to the old style that gives you all the details rather than the version introduced in Windows 8, and added "Kill Not Responding Tasks" and an "Open Bash Here" (WSL) options to the context menu. You can also use it to reset local group policy settings (not reversible). This has been quite helpful by installing the portable option on a USB drive so I can just have the entire app on me whenever I need it.
