Setting Display Resolution selectively: Possible ?

    Hello,

I have a program that shows an "active" screen.
With my eyesight these days, a bit of a problem in reading it, due to its size.

Came across a good suggestion that to make it appear larger, to lower the display resolution.

Question: is this possible selectively, just for this one program and the higher
resolution would remain for all the other programs, or it's a Global setting, an all-or-nothing ?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
(There are no "handles," etc. to drag the display that is showing larger)

    Thanks,
    Bob

Hi, I think perhaps you might be asking to change resolution just for one window and not for any other part of the screen. If so, in general for any resolution, no, as far as I know- but see below.

You could use an Autohotkey script which could be resident, running a continous loop, such that the screen resolution changes if that program is runnning, or a particular window is present.

Or, an Autohotkey script could launch the program, then change the resolution, then reset the resolution when the program exits and its process is no longer present.

Both could change the resolution back if the program were minimised.

Autohotkey is a free scripting language with a great help file full of examples.
A script can be written in e.g. Notepad and consist of as little as a few characters on 1 line.

If you want a fixed resolution for that program you can create a shortcut thus:

(I note Freebooter has posted this below too)

You can run a program in 640 × 480 screen resolution.
