Remote Desktop app for Mac with Wake on LAN Support

I currently use Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac to remote control my Windows 10 Home PC from my iMac(Mojave OS). The only issue is that the Windows PC goes to sleep to save power, and I cannot easily wake it. I can log into one of my appliances like Synology NAS or Raspberry pi , which both have Wake on Lan(WoL) utilities , and wake up the PC.

I am wondering if there are any remote control applications that have WoL built in. That way the application can send a WoL packet and wait for the Windows PC to become remotely accessible before opening a remote desktop/control session.

So UltraVNC will send a wake on lan packet to my Windows PC and then wait for it to come online before starting a remote control session?

I'm on a Mac so I don't need ( and can't run ) WinSCP or Putty.

I use wolcmd which you can download from here and copy it to /bin.

You can then make an applescript in Script Editor (replacing pc ethernet mac address and ip in red) similar to this do shell script "wolcmd f0def1292c73 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.0 9" and save it as type application ("WakePC.app" for example).

On PC you need to install Windows Feature Simple TCPIP Services (which opens ports 7 and 9) and then add exception for udp port 9 in Windows firewall. The port is the one used in the wolcmd command above - 9 being the default.

Then it is a matter of running your WakePC app before Microsoft Remote Desktop app which is the best RDP client for mac IMO.
