    Microsoft Store

I have the Microsoft Windows Store set to update automatically:

Yet, I have six updates sitting there and I have to manually click the "Update all" button to download them:

I never had to click the "Update all" button before when the Store settings were set to update apps automatically; so what is going on here?

    Why won't they update automatically?

Thank you for your reply @dalchina

Something in your second link caught my attention about the UAC being a possible culprit. I had read over that publication before and missed the tidbit about the User Account Control.

I enabled it to the third tier and will reboot to see what the store does:

Well............now I have twelve updates sitting in there that won't update automatically:

I wonder if this is a new bug with the latest Cumulative Update to 1903 OS Build 18362.356?

Hmm, guess what? I've 4 pending.. but I've no idea what normally happens 'cos I don't look at this - most things I use are not Store apps. Also .356, UAC at default.

Normally, they update automatically and don't remain in a pending or resume update status.

Something is definitely not right and I'm running the reset store app now to see if it fixes it.

Nope: I would still have to manually click the "Update all" button which I didn't have to do before.

Also, @dalchina -- I forgot to mention that I am not using a Virtual Private Network.

I can't find this scheduled task:
There is a scheduled task that runs to update apps.

It's under Windows Update, as Automatic App Update

    from schtasks /query
    I've used
    schtasks /query >> <path>\tasks.txt
    and searched the file...

I didn't find it either and I really don't want to set up a PS script to update store apps automatically when that is what they should be doing on their own.

But now I look again at the Store I have a long list that were updated yesterday..

    There's this to check:

Yes- did you run through the tutorial to see if there's anything there?

Could be they've changed the scheduled task or method somehow since 2016...given mine were updated yesterday, I suppose.
