Hi, thank you for your comment.
I asked about one specific point complete with a screenshot.
I see the same on both laptops.
Note the nature of the search requires file search to be enabled in Open Shell search. I have content search enabled FWIW.
I haven't done anything exceptional that I know of and as I said I tried reversing the one obvious thing that might be related. Beyond that I have Qttabbar installed.
Could you please confirm what happens when you do exactly what I showed?
Again, I'm asking if that specific action results in file explorer opening correctly.
Thanks.
I tried this by searching just pdf and it seems to work fine. These are my Classic Shell settings and result of clicking See More Results. I tried enabling/disabling classic search in Winaero like you did and it still worked.
Open Shell................very fine in 7, 10 and 11 !
Its my favorite startprogram , tried more of these software , Open Shell is best..............
Thanks for trying that.. Hmm, wonder what's interfering.. as far as file explorer is concerned that seems to leave Qttabbar.
As I've not clicked 'More results' at any time I can definitely remember I've no personal point of reference, and can't think of any particular relevant change, which leaves... experimentation and elimination.
-- and having tried eliminating possible things that might interact that are common to both PCs - found nothing.
File explorer doesn't crash (nothing in Reliability History) - just opens, fails to populate, and closes when I click See more results.
At present I can only think of disabling context menu entries ... a bit unlikely...
