I have the start menu set to autohide, so Programs isn't visible. It sounds as if you have it always visible.

The time to show on hover is configurable:
    Attachment 284663

Increase the time and simply moving your mouse across it should have no effect.

Curiosity- as you have Windows search disabled, is searching Settings still quick?
The all programs "hide" issue is fixed now.

Windows searching "Settings" doesn't work with windows search and indexing disabled.

No, haven't yet. According to the change log, pinning Store Apps was the only published change.

You can install right over the existing. Just to be on the safe side (not required), I do a quick export of the settings before.

I don't know if this problem (if it is a problem, it might be just how Windows or open-shell work with particular programs) is due to Open-shell or Windows 10.
On some programs that are pinned to taskbar, such as 'Calibre' (Book library) it opens but creates a new icon at the end of taskbar which shows that Calibre is active and that has to be used to minimize the program.
Is it possible for this new icon not to be created and for me to be able to minimize Calibre using the original icon?
    I hope that makes sense?

Hi, this is unrelated to Open shell and would appear to be specific to that program.

I suggest you either approach the author/Calibre forum as appropriate, or start a new thread in the appropriate forum section, with screenshots as illustration to attract appropriate attention.

I have done a quick search for you and found something like your question asked.. a few years back

Not sure if that is the same problem.
My problem is that Calibre is creating a new icon when I click on the pinned icon in the taskbar and I have to use this new one to minimize etc.
    I'll try it though.

There was a certain sequence of pinning Calibre to the taskbar which I wasn't doing correctly.
Working how I want it now. :)

    Yes, everything is OK now.
I wasn't sure what was causing it but it's one more thing to tick off my list of niggles with Windows 10 :)

One other question. I don't know if this is to do with Open-shell or settings in Windows 10.
On my previous Windows 8.1 laptop with Open-shell I had programs being used appearing in the Start Menu.
    This is not happening now.
Any idea if I have to adjust a setting in Windows 10 or Open-shell?
