Anyway it points to the same script. This is the one pinned to OpenShell.

Actually I seem to have used a different tutorial for that shortcut.

I still use Classic Shell. Does Open Shell have a particular advantage these days?

I don't know the differences between them as I never used Classic Shell. I used an alternative in the past. Lots of users say that Classic Shell works fine for them.

It's stated that Classic Shell is no longer developed/ updated and Open Shell is a fork of it which is maintained.

There's a decent enough review here:

Open-Shell - Classic Shell Reborn, and pretty neat too

One feature i like is the ability to display Windows 10 Start Menu if you need it for some reason.

I have the same on Win8.1 but some things in it still refer to Classic Shell such as Classic Explorer Settings. I did a clean install of Win8.1 on a Notebook on Saturday adding Open Shell.

I don't have those settings. I think that there is an optional component when installing.

Classic Start Menu, Classic IE and Classic Explorer.

I just installed Classic Start Menu.

Classic Start Menu, Classic IE and Classic Explorer.

There is more info if you right click Start. Then choose Help.

You can do the same with Classic Shell via a shortcut pinned to the main Classic Shell Start Menu.
Just create a shortcut to the W10 native menu and drag it onto the Start icon. Then place in the program list.

If it works for you then I guess it's fine.

    Open Shell is it's replacement.
