    Windows Media Player problems

Hi guys, I keep getting errors in Windows Media Player (WMP).
To be more specific, slow start, then hangs & after 15 secs or so I can use it, with no problems.
But the Windows Problem Solver/Troubleshooter says that my Settings are corrupt & the other one says my Library is corrupt. Problems are logged at the end of the Troubleshooter Wizard, but no repairs available/present. So this tool is useless to me. It was so in previous versions as well...

Anyway, I found a tool on the WindowsClub which re-registers all the .dll's called Fix WMP.
Also when I run this tool WMP still has those same errors in the Troubleshooter & also when the program opens.

I've un- & re-installed WMP but that didn't help either.
I renamed C:\Users\wouldn't you like to know LOL\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player
to Media Player.old, so WMP created a new folder with the next restart, and you guessed it, to no avail either...

So I don't know what to try next...
    Any ideas?

You might need to reinstall Windows Media Player. Open up Control Panel --> Programs and Features --> Turn Windows features on or off. Go down to Media Features –> Windows Media Player. Uncheck the check box and restart your computer.
Head back into Windows Features on or off, and check the box again to reinstall Windows Media Player.

Thanks for stepping up bro, but I tried already.
I can do it again, after I do a SFC & DISM ... <Repair, reboot, uninstall WMP.
Reboot, run those scans again, reboot, install WMP.

Cannot be done any purer my guess.
If that doesn't help I don't know anymore...
Windows + Drivers & most of my Software is up to date.
And I recently did a fresh install, so how can this be?!

PS can you see anything wrong in this folder?

Can someone check their WMP folder & see if this looks normal?

    Thanks!

Have you perform a repair install of Windows 10.

As a last resort maybe. I recently did a complete fresh install. Took me a week to set Windows the way I want, install my necessary software etc, so doing a reinstall is not an option right now.

With repair install you wont lose your personal files and installed programs.

Yeah I'm contemplating if I want to do this...
My previous install wasn't fluent. I had a lot of WMI errors, which most I repaired afterwards.
Had quite a bit of errors in the Event log as well. So maybe an in-Place Upgrade might solve everything.

What type of media are you using WMP for? If just watching movies and the such, use VLC.

I'm doing a Repair Install as we speak. Will see how it goes. PS I use WMP to play mp3\4 files. I tried VLC many moons ago. If I have same issues again with WMP I might consider VLC...
