How Do I Remove a-volute nh3 Audio Effects Component

    Hello all.

I noticed that a PC running for a user had a software called "Nahimic 3" installed and it was causing applications to crash on launch, it gave an error tied to its service .dll file. Upon investigation, this app is causing heap of issues so naturally I uninstalled it from the programs/apps in Windows. After a restart the service was still running, and after a quick system search I noticed that there were a ton of files still running and leftovers all over the place. So I nuked it all; Removed its system files that kept it running still, removed its registery files, and deleted most folders associated to this app.

Success, it's not running anymore, however, a component called "a-volute nh3 audio effects component" always shows itself in the device manager under "software components" (the tab that have a blue puzzle piece on it), and I can't figure out why. The service is not running anymore, all files are gone, but this component piece keeps popping up. Its placement is on 'Realtek audio', and it's running a basic Microsoft driver. Clicking uninstall on it will work upon the next system startup where it will pop back up again.

Check the startup, there may still be something there for "a-volute".
May even have to get into the registry to remove left overs.

Do you mean in the task manager? The only startup processes are OneDrive, Windows Security and Realtek Universal Audio. If I search for either Nahimic or a-volute on the system disk the only files that are left are the Microsoft Store entries (which I'm not sure if I should touch) and the HTML searches in Edge.

Yes, the Startup list. It was a thought.

Yea, I dunno either. It's not actually on the machine and it doesn't start automatically so that's good, it's just that the component driver is there in the device manager under software components for Windows. Should I simply leave it alone? It seems to be tied to Realtek, and since Realtek is used for the audio I/O at the back I can't just uninstall it on her machine. I'm not sure what to do. Microsoft is so annyoing with their auto-driver-bull sometimes..

Ok, this is starting to become hellish... It's impossible to uninstall this POS with the current Realtek drivers. I don't find any solutions to this... The service always pops up after a few days or weeks if any Realtek driver is installed. If we uninstall all traces of Realtek then Nahmic is gone aswell, but we'd like to have the Realtek Audio Manager without Nahimic… Gah!.. When we removed the audio driver completely, the onboard Realtek driver is identified as "RtkAudUService64" for some reason.

If anyone have any idea on how to have the Realtek audio manager without the POS Nahimic service running, please let me know. MSI doesn't provide any help to me. I'm at a loss on what to do. Currently we don't have any Audio driver installed, only a basic Microsoft driver I believe.

I have Realtek (on several PC's) and none have the program you have. Either its where you are getting the Realtek driver from or still lurking waiting for Realtek to be reinstalled.

Ultimately, it may take a clean install of Win 10 to get rid of it.

Hi. Thanks for the info! I think we're on to something. The zip file is actually called "Realtek_Nahimic_UAD_Audio". Nahimic is in the file name, so you're probably right that it's where I am getting it from. It's directly from the motherboard manufacturer. I've always downloaded drivers directly from the manufacturer to ensure full compatibility. The Nahimic service is probably running because the driver has the included audio effects component attached to it (seen in the device manager). As long as it doesn't cause crashing or applications to fail then we won't care. I will do some testing over the weeks to see if it leads to any harm by just having the service there.

I've used either the Realtek driver linked here in the Forum or the driver direct from Realtek without problems in Win 10.
