Yes, the responses answer my question. I was thinking the Pro version of CCleaner would not display the ads but I wanted to confirm. And I always update my software manually, avoiding driver and software update programs. Thanks!
Great! Thanks for replying. You can mark this "Solved" if you like. Green button top left of page.

The free version of CCleaner is great, but compared with the paid version, I prefer Safewiper, because in a way, it's faster and cheaper.

Followed your link, and all I got, or could find, was Apple i-anything apps. Seems this app is for iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Mac PC. And 1 Android app. Maybe I missed it.

I am still running vr 5.44 portable. Ran it today and came to realize that, even though it is portable, it still calls home. Notice popped up and said you need to update. There has been 16 updates since your current version. Furthermore it said that I may not be able to take advantage of the the full cleanup abilities of the latest software, 5.60 ? On the fence to try it.

Speaking of AVast, my MWB Adwcleaner notified me of one previously installed software called HPJumpStartApp, possibly coming from Advast. I don't have any HP equipment??, if that applies, and certainly did not knowingly install any Advast stuff. I removed it.

I saw a thread about this particular detection of pre-installed software on the Malwarebytes forum. See reply from Elisabeth (staff) in reply number 9. It would appear to be a false detection and will be fixed in the next release. Preinstalled.HPJumpStartApps on self-built PC? - Malwarebytes AdwCleaner - Malwarebytes Forums

I scanned one of my computers today and it detected something ASUS related (ASUSSupport) in the pre-installed software report, which is interesting, as I have never used any ASUS equipment, nor any ASUS software. I suspect another FP....

Just out of curiosity. You say you have never had anything ASUS, not doubting you. Was curious, and looked at your specs. You have an HP Zbook. Coincidentally, ASUS makes a ZenBook

    ASUS Global

. By chance is the MB in your Zbook an ASUS MB? That may explain the ADWCleaner catch.

    All just out of curiosity.

Hi. Nah good thoughts but the Zbook is HP's name for it's mobile workstations - nothing to do with the ASUS ZenBook. The Zbook 15v is a new model in 2018 which is like a budget version of the Zbook range. It's a great wee machine, but unfortunately it does not receive updates and fixes as often as it's other Zbooks. It's treated very much as a consumer rather than business model in that regard.

The detection was actually not on the HP Zbook, it was on my HP Spectre x 2 12-a004tu. I just fired up speccy to check the MB details and there's no mention of ASUS as per image below. I think it's a FP. The pre-installed software checks are a brand new thing in Malwarebytes adwcleaner - perhaps it needs a little polishing.
