photo viewer crashing and corrupted files

    photo viewer crashing and corrupted files


    i'm having problems with windows 10. the photo viewer keeps crashing. i ran sfc/scannow and it said that the pc has corrupted files that it wasn't able to repair. how can i fix this with out doing a reset or reinstall of windows?

    Welcome to TenForums bulkchart32

    When SFC cannot repair corrupted files it usually means the source files in the store are also corrupted. You can confirm this using Option Five in this tutorial to view the scan results.

    Run SFC Command in Windows 10

    You can repair the store using DISM's RestoreHealth option, see this tutorial.

    Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image

    After the DISM repairs restart the PC then use SFC again, this time it should be able to complete the repairs. You may need to repeat the above steps up to three times to complete all possible repairs.

    Should you still have problems after that, then an in-place repair upgrade can repair Windows. This reinstalls Windows while leaving all your files and installed apps in place.

    so i did that and even went ahead and upgraded from 1809 to 1903. i'm still getting corrupted files on a sfc scan and photo viewer still crashes. what the heck is wrong with it?
