Not far off and thanks for the help.
I didn't require to backup the entire system.
Removing Ubuntu and WSL is effortless and safe to do so.
As long as I don't type 'bash' in CMD, then I'm good.
I cannot confirm I don't have two types of bash since I didn't type 'bash' :)
But I did remove WSL and Ubuntu and reinstalled them back (after a restart), and just launched Ubuntu.
I also set the properties file of the new Win10 Terminal to open Ubuntu.
A quick 'sudo apt update' and I'm good to go.
