iTunes.exe - where is it found?

I installed iTunes on my PC in order to backup my iPhone apps and data. The installation was made from the Microsoft Store.

However, I cannot find where itunes.exe is located on my PC. The Windows Start menu does have an entry for iTunes, which I used for my backup, but does not provide any clue about where the actual executable is located. I need this information in order to create an entry in a toolbar that I use for PC management purposes.

Any ideas where itunes.exe is hiding?

EDIT: I found a couple of links C:\Users\fortitude\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\itunes.exe and c:\Users\fortitude\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AppleInc.iTunes_nzyj5cx40ttqa\iTunes.exe. These however are not the actual exe file, but references to it. Anyway, I'm looking for the iTunes thumbnail, if possible which my toolbar would detect in itunes.exe, if I could find it.

EDIT 2: OK, I answered my own question. It may help others. I found itunes.exe in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\AppleInc.iTunes_12095.7.41059.0_x64__nzyj5cx40ttqa\itunes.exe.

On my PC, it resides in splendid obviousness in C:\Program Files\iTunes.

Yep my iTunes.exe is in same place as Ed’s. I wouldn’t ever recommend a store app equivalent over a traditional installation. You might be better off downloading the installer from Apple. Although that being said I think Apple are going to tear iTunes up in a few months and replace with separate apps for tv, music, podcasts and books

Thanks for the comments. May be I didn't see it, but on the Apple website I could only download it from Microsoft Store, which wouldn't be my best alternative if I had one. Hence the problem locating itunes.exe.

I couldn't find the .exe either and had to hunt about.
    Eventually i found it here...

    "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\AppleInc.iTunes_12108.5.48031.0_x64__nzyj5cx40ttqa"

No idea why it was there but this was the first time I installed somthing from windows store.

The "Windows Store" app installs in a different location than the "non" Windows store app.

Uninstall the iTunes Store app and install the normal program version if you want iTunes to be installed in the conventional way

Right. So where are you getting the non-store version from? Especially the latest supported version?u

If you say Apple, they're going to redirect you to the Microsoft store. Been there done that. Ran iTunes for years until I moved to flac files which iTunes doesn't support (nor does it support APE files).

Hi, You can install it from Apple page: iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple (IL)

Just move down an You will see link called "Windows"', click link then move up where will be appeared links for downloading regular 64-bit and 32-bit Installers. But how was mention before, uninstall Microsoft Store version.

Don't know what country code IL is but Apple US will direct you to the Windows Store....
