Hello. I use the intel driver support assistant to keep my Intel vid card updated. I have noticed the updater runs at startup and I have not been able to stop this behavior. It is not in startups and I cant seem to trace whatever is doing it. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!
Do you mean the webpage loads at startup & checks for updates?
If so I had the same problem after the 1903 update, I tried several things - cleared cache, cookies, history, closed the Intel browser’s tab, reset Edge & reinstalled Edge via powershell, I believe the last one fixed it.

Only way I ever found to totally stop this from firing up by itself (yes, obnoxious), is to make sure both of these services are set to "Manual". When/if you want to run the Intel Support, manually start each service yourself, and the little blue wrench will pop up in the taskbar. When done, exit the app. You can then stop the 2 services yourself, or just leave alone. They will go away on next restart.
Just uninstall Intel driver support assistant. You don't need it, bloatware.
Windows updates does the same thing. Just 10 days ago the 1903 Windows 10 version update on mine also did the Intel video drivers.
This one is not entirely bloatware, in the classical definition. It never came packaged with anything. Many times, we recommend to users to get the latest drivers from the OEM or Intel/AMD/whatever vendor. This is a convenient and safe method of getting these Official Drivers. Not bloatware like Snake Oil Driver Updaters and all those 3rd party shenanigans. And it is sometimes the only source for prior earlier official drivers, if needed.
