    How do I create a dvd movie from an MP4 file

    I have several Nero's and none of them will create a DVD that can be inserted into a DVD player and watched on a TV. It appears that it isn't possible. Nero spent 20+ minutes creating two folders that contain nothing but garbage. Put in the computer even Nero can't play the DVD it created. Yes it will burn a the MP4 file on a DVD but that will not play in the TV's DVD. I need a solution for someone who doesn't have a computer.

    You need a DVD authoring program that creates menus, chapters etc. Plenty of free ones.
    Simply burning the mp4 file to a disk creates a data disk with a file on it.

    I use DVD Styler, as mentioned in the links dalchina gave. I prefer the Portable Apps version which requires no install.

    I have Nero 2018, 2016, 2014 and two others. I created a DVD with Nero using the MP4 file and I told to create DVD video. Now my PC won't even read what Nero created unless I put it in several times and even Nero won't play it.

    Use "Nero Video". . Open it, and under the "Create Disc" select DVD>DVD-Video and import the file. It can be avi, mp4, etc. It'll automatically create chapters if you tell it to, and will convert it to VIDEO_TS to play.

    Hi folks

    @theaudioanalyst

    This one (free) DVDFLICK seems to do the job

    Download DVD Flick from SourceForge.net

    For Linux users DeVeDe works _ that's what I use if I need to create physical DVD's from .MKV or.MP4 files for playing on a "Real DVD player".

    How to Burn DVDs with DeVeDe and Brasero on Linux - LinuxConfig.org

    Note also if you use somthing like AnyDvd to extract, decrypt the dvdcss encryption and de-regionalize a commercial DVD to an iso you can just burn the iso to a physical disc and it will play in a physical player --- note though if you do this ensure the target DVD will be readable in a physical player -- e.g if using say DVD+R or similar -- also some commercial DVD's can be > 4.7GB so use the correct media when burning back to physical DVD's.

    Cheers
