    OneDrive not same version on our pcs

    Hi

    i noticed the one drive icon in the system tray on one pc is newer looked than the other. When I checked the version installed one has ver 2019 19.086.0502.0006 and the other has ver 2019 19.070.0410.0007. How do I get the pc with the older version to update? Or does it just get pushed on the fly? Seems to be no option to check for one drive updates

    in fact I just check the pc with the newer version and on some user accounts it has the newer one drive version number and other user accounts the older one. So diff versions across the same pc. Maybe it’s a drip feed roll out much like they do with windows 1903?

    I am referring to the integrated one drive (as opposed the store downloadable app)
    thanks

    You can browse the OneDrive Release Notes which can be helpful in seeing what's current and what's rolling out:

    OneDrive release notes - Office Support

    However for me yesterday, this version: 19.086.0502.0006 jumped in right after 19.070.0410.0007 and isn't even on their list yet. In fact it's one higher than the Insiders track, the links for which they never supply. It's also wise after downloading from here to check the OneDriveSetup.exe's Properties>Details>File Version to make sure its the version the link says it is.

    Sometimes for me if I open OneDrive. which I only use to update my folders then exit, it will download the next version inline, something I noticed with my Laptop just now.

    If you're really adventurous there's a xml file in:

    C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\Update

    called update.xml that often includes a link to the next version in line, the url download for 19.086.0502.0006 can be seen below as: url="https://oneclient.sfx.ms/Win/Prod/19.086.0502.0006/OneDriveSetup.exe".
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <root>
      <update throttle="100" rescan="1440" currentversion="19.070.0410.0007" maxapplicable="19.070.0410.0006" minapplicable="16.000.0000.0000">
        <binary sha1hash="IhVf16lpvz4Ulqqwx1dBENbBMYY=" sha256hash="5H1C+CucdK8VnV4y19fb1mZ+umOdDElXrTn+GoBtLKg=" url="https://oneclient.sfx.ms/Win/Prod/19.070.0410.0007/OneDriveSetup.exe" />
      </update>
      <update throttle="10" rescan="1440" currentversion="19.086.0502.0006" maxapplicable="19.999.9999.9999" minapplicable="16.000.0000.0000">
        <binary sha1hash="YaDuiZ/R3BzITHmCp/Y7FFk+XyE=" sha256hash="q5x4ZYwfm+Iguetz3mx2KeVu85H0PUdB2WeI2dPFU64=" url="https://oneclient.sfx.ms/Win/Prod/19.086.0502.0006/OneDriveSetup.exe" />
      </update>
    </root>

    I also noticed after a reboot they're using the new OneDrive Task Bar and System Tray Icons that have changed with 19.086.0502.0006

    Thank you for that info. Brings comfort that both versions are reasonably up to date. Sounds like the version I mentioned is in a roll out phase then. I’ll see if it happens automatically (my onedrive is always active on start up) in next few days. Will keep a close eye out for the slight change in icon style you referred to in the system tray
