Weird connection between Visual FoxPro and Roxio

    Hello:

    I have Windows 10, 64-bit and Office 2010.

I spent a great part of yesterday deleting everything "Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3" (from file structure, registry, etc.) and it is possible that I deleted something I should not have. However, the result is weird.

Note: Roxio - DVD Burning Software - Easy VHS to DVD - DVD Decoder - Video Converter - CD Burning

When I now click on Microsoft Visual FoxPro > Tools > Code reference, a Windows installer box opens with the text

"Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3
Please wait while WINDOWS configures Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3".

Eventually, I get an error message saying:

Error 2718 Missing package name for product code '(DE363BFB-DC2C-45B1-8ACF-793D8ECA56A3)'.

I do not know what the product code refers to. As all this goes on, I can not close Visual Foxpro any other way than via Task Manager.

Where "Roxio" comes from, I do not know, as it is supposedly removed from my computer.

Anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated!

You may have Roxio referenced in the MVFP configuration. Open the preferences and look for it there.

thomaseg1, I have no config file for my applications in VFP. If that does not make sense, could you clarify your post (I find no Preferences).

bro67, when you say "Do not use the uninstaller stated.', od you mean
Download and install the Revo Uninstaller. Then run it in Moderate Mode to remove any traces of Roxio.

    of some other installer?

    Hello everyone:

I found this advice on line and followed it.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    a) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    b) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    c) sfc /scannow
    d) chkdsk /scan
    e) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the results. Would anyone be able to tell me what to do?

    Same result.

What I need, I believe, is a working way or replacing the system files in Windows. My Macrium Reflect rescue media seemed to be too old (2017; screwed up drive letters). I will try the repair disk for windows again (second try).

One would think it would work like this (considering the age of Windows).

    sfc /scannow

Message: You have corrupt files. Do you want to send them to MS for a fix? Yes!

Message: MS just sent you the non-corrupt files. Do you want to them to replace the corrupt files? Yes!

Message: You have to reboot the computer right away. Save anything you need to save, and then click "OK".

But no. Instead, complicated fixes for everything except corrupt files. What a company!!!

Now, I have a vague memory of having downloaded a fix file from MS. Rings a bell?

Would anyone be able to identify the corrup files from the attached log file?

I started this post with this:

When I now click on Microsoft Visual FoxPro > Tools > Code reference, a Windows installer box opens with the text
"Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3
Please wait while WINDOWS configures Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3".
Eventually, I get an error message saying:

    I now have searched for

Does this tell anyone about problems. If so, I would be most obliged if you suggested what I should do to fix.
