    Does this app still exist?

I used to have a small memory resident app that would activate your screen saver instantly when you pushed the mouse curser to the corner of the screen, thus hiding it contents from someone approaching. Does anyone know where I can find this? Thanks in advance... Bob

    Bob,

You could set up a keyboard shortcut of your own to activate a screensaver.

    Anywhere convenient for you
    - right-click, New, Shortcut.
    - copy in this path C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr
    - give it any name you want then OK
    - after you have made it, right-click on it and select Properties then enter something in the Shortcut key field such as Ctrl-Alt-Y. Then OK to confirm.
    - This key combination will then activate the screensaver whenever you want.

If you wanted a specific screensaver that is not the one you normally have set up then have a look at all the .scr files in C:\Windows\System32 and enter a path-filename to one of them in the shortcut instead.
    C:\Windows\System32\PhotoScreensaver.scr
    C:\Windows\System32\Mystify.scr
    C:\Windows\System32\ssText3d.scr
    C:\Windows\System32\Ribbons.scr
[not C:\Windows\System32\Bubbles.scr because that does not blank the screen contents]

    Bob,

I did conclude from your description that you did not mean the non-screensaver method which is when you move the cursor to the bottom-right corner of the screen, the end of the Taskbar, it would show the desktop.

This just needs to be set up in Settings, Personalisation, Taskbar - Use Peek to preview the desktop …

I am sorry, that was not what I was looking for.

I'd better give up. I thought that they each sounded good but I couldn't get either running. I guess I'm dumber than I thought.

I guess I'm not as dumb as I thought. A simple reboot did the trick.

    Thanks, Bob
