MS Money 2005 Update
Thanks for the reply. I've gone through your steps one by one:
- sfc /scannow - no integrity violations found
- Checked IE is installed correctly in Control Panel
- Downloaded the Money .exe file from the link you provided
- Uninstalled and re-installed Money as administrator and the right compatibility mode
Unfortunately, the behaviour is still the same - MS Money doesn't start.
I also tried it on another PC which is running the same Windows 10 Home version (v1803) and it runs fine there, so it's probably not the Windows version.
The only other thing I can put it down to is what I mentioned earlier. When this problem started, a Windows update was due, so I scheduled it and then forgot about it with MS Money still open, so I wasn't around when Windows rebooted itself automatically during the update and may not have closed MS Money properly. Is it possible there is some file or setting that became locked when the upgrade occurred due to MS Money not shutting down properly, that is now preventing me from starting it normally?
