Windows 10 File Explorer acting strangely

Earlier this morning it started lightly blinking, would happen a few times and then stop and then maybe do it again within the hour maybe not. Then File Expl. started moving my usb drives around, stayed in "This PC" view/folder but would switch E: with R: and then swap another two, and carried this on every so often for about 2 hrs. Now I open file explore and "This PC" view has been combined with "Desktop" view. It's baffling. I killed the process via Process Explorer and later tried restarting my PC and it started doing it again.

Anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it?

Sorry I forgot to specify, I am on Windows 10 Pro 1809

The behaviour you describe is not normal or even what is expected in any fault condition I have seen myself or heard others describe.

I think you need to run full scans using WD [including its offline scan mode] and MBAM.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Dang :\ I knew it was a long shot but I was hoping one of you Win10 Wizards would have a less concerning explanation. I will start those now. Thank you for the reply. I will post if I find the culprit

    Also, try running…
    SFC /Scannow
…in an elevated command window—ie Run as Administrator.

It's been a couple of years, haven't noticed Lugh around lately. Looks like he was running Version 1803 back then, probably is no longer supported.
