You’ll need a new app to open this ms-paint error

On my Windows 10 x64 when I want to edit an image using the context menu option "Edit with Paint 3D" which is a Windows 10 built-in feature, I get this error.

    How to fix this please?

Hi, how do you fix that? You could try re-registering the app:
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10 | Tutorials

Find paint 3D and follow the instructions following the section heading above.

    If that doesn't help, then
    - does that happen for any image file type or just one?
    - does Paint 3D lauch successfully if you launch it e.g. from the start menu?
    - can you open the file with any other image handler?

If you create a new user for test purposes, does the same thing happen?

Have you tried searching for the error message (which I've captured using free on-screen OCR program capturetotext)?

You’ll need a new app to open this
    ms-paint

Here's what I see (see my signature!):

    @tomyfr
Just to make it simple for you, just could always do this :)

If you don't get Paint 3D in the list as i do, simply press Choose another app, and pick Paint 3D in the list.

But if you want to fix the context menu download,
Default Programs Editor (Context Menu) > run the program > find the correct file type > edit the filetype > done.

Hi guys, thank you for your answers.

What I did have been these:
1- I pasted the code for "To Reinstall and Re-Register All Windows Apps for All Accounts"
2- Also for "To Reinstall and Re-Register All Windows Apps for Current Account Only" and specific Paint 3D

3- Typed Paint 3D in start Menu but no results!
4- Opened an image by the normal image editor and chose Edit With Paint 3D. The same error as the first post on this thread.
5- Right clicked on the image -> Open with => there's no Paint 3D on the list!

Seemingly, the app is uninstalled and even using the first two powerShell command can't be re-installed!

Hello and problems with "you need a new app to open ms-paint@:

    Hello, everybody,

Thank you for any help I can get. This is my first time posting.

I followed the instructions to get this app working again and my Windows does not have the "Window store apps" option. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

This has been a crazy day because when I went to log on to my computer this morning, it said it was not able to load my profile and would not open. I turned the computer off and waited a few minutes. When I turned it on again, I had the black screen and some message on the top left saying not to turn it off because it was doing something I can't remember to the cache. When I was finally able to log on, it greeted me buy under the greeting it said Windows was doing something I forgot again, not to do anything. When I finally was able to do something in it, many apps were there but not opening when I clicked on them or when I clicked "Open." Some were not even there although their icon was. One of the apps I couldn't open was Windows Paint even though I like the other one that comes with the computer better for what I do with it.

My documents had also disappeared but, thankfully, they were in OneDrive.!

Maybe I should also post under another Subject so I get help with the apps that can't open!
