Cyberlink Power DVD Ultra 19 Released

    Hey all,
Hope I have posted here in correct spot :)

Cyberlink PowerDVD ULTRA 19 has been released and is 64 bit (yeah!),
YES this is their first 64 bit Player..
All the others I have had were 32 installed.
8K Playback (provided you have 8K content and hardware).

PowerDVD 19 - Video Player Software | CyberLink

Appears to run smoother/faster even on 18875

    Hi there

    Thanks for info

    but @ROTARY and others
but why do people bother with this type of stuff when VLC or KODI is available FREE, and probably far better than these old products.

These sort of things were fine in C20 when DVD's were the only means of watching video -- planet has moved on -- try VLC / KODI instead both work even for Blu Ray and are free of DRM rubbish too.

If that fails try things like slysoft AnyDVD to rip DVD's to ISO's which also removes DRM and then play -- archiving physical DVD's to iso's makes far better sense than bothering about physical DVD's and makes it far easier to stream to remote TV's etc anyway.

Also if you still have DRM problems LIBDVDCSS works 100% on any Linux distro to remove DRM (as does VLC) - but usually on Windows VLC is 100% OK for multimedia.

    Cheers

VLC does't play all blu rays, it's not the holy grail!

Got to agree, I have tried almost every player over the decades...
And YES, I also use/keep VLC (free) Player, a few years ago it would not play BRay.

IMO PowerDVD runs rings over all of them IF YOU USE a Quality Monitor/TV which you run your PC with..

Using Power DVD18 (32 bit) with 18875 I had some slow starts and freezing problems...
But now DVD19 is 64 BIT has well and truly come alive, fast and clean, no bugs, slow starts.
And yes, it does MP3, Stills, 360 degree, 8K, etc, etc.
During the year Cyberlink has Sales and you can grab a bargain, should not pay anymore than $50 for the Key and I activate on 6 separate SSD.
IF you have issue Activating over your normal IP connection where it fails to register saying ''to try again later'', do it with HOTSPOT the PC with your Mobile Data and the Activation will work.

Just use the supplied Cyberlink 'New' Key when you bought DVD19 I did the 6 SSD all at same time (day), there is a limit though per key, well there was with 16 or 17 (cant remember) had to email support and they reset it, at the time I was doing a lot of CLEAN Installs on Hard Disk Drives so I used up my allocation....I think they allow 8, before you have to contact them, tell the truth, may take a few days , but eventually Cyberlink came through. In your case, if you have only activated once you should be ok. That is 3 separate PC's W10 with a spare backup SSD for each.

I'm wanting PowerDVD 19 but only have 16 and they say I can't upgrade and I don't fancy paying £80 again... and I can't find a coupon code that works above 10% off...
